Obituary of MaryKay Barnett

MaryKay Barnett of Stony Point passed away on April 4, 2024. She was 71. MaryKay was born at Good Samaritan Hospital on April 27, 1952 to Joseph & Mildred Cullen of Tomkins Cove, NY.   MaryKay was a member of North Rockland High School’s first graduating class in 1970. She met the love of life, Thomas, while working at Lake Welch in Harriman State Park and married on May 15, 1971.  MaryKay worked as a Secretary for New York State’s Letchworth Village and Hudson Valley DDSO for many years until her retirement in 2015.  MaryKay was an avid reader, loved spending time boating on the Hudson, enjoyed crocheting and all types of crafting.  She will be missed by all who knew her.  MaryKay is survived by her daughter, Jennifer, her son-in-law Christopher, and sister, Joanne Cullen Smith.  MaryKay was predeceased by her husband, Thomas in 1995.  Family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 4-8 pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville NY.  Services will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024, 11am at the funeral home followed by interment at Mt. Repose Cemetery, Haverstraw, NY.
