Obituary of Maureen Wright

Maureen Wright, 64 of Stony Point, passed away on April 3rd, in the comfort of her family's arms.

She was born in the Bronx, in 1959.  Her family migrated to Stony Point the following year. Maureen graduated from Albertus Magnus, High School, Dominican College, Iona College, and Long Island University where she received a Marketing degree followed by a Master's degree in Computer Science and one in Business Administration. With over three decades of experience, Maureen Wright distinguished herself as a Systems Analyst, contributing her expertise to several leading firms such as IBM, UPS, and PepsiCo.

Maureen held a special place in her heart for her family. Her contributions to family gatherings were the highlight for many, as she had a natural talent for bringing everyone together with fun games and activities. Her smile was contagious, and it had a way of making every little moment feel special.  It was in these simple joys and shared experiences that Maureen’s deep affection for her family was most evident.

She was married to her husband, Tom, for more than 37 years. She was a cherished daughter of John and Mary Gaynor of Stony Point and a loving sister to Jim (Maureen), Greg (Laura), Brian (Kristen), and Eileen. Her spirit lives on through her eight nieces and nephews: Shannon, Linda, Allison, Matt, Nick, Kevin, Brian, and Ryan. She was predeceased by her brothers, Brendan and John.

Maureen had a strong and abiding Roman Catholic belief.   As she was able, her daily highlight was celebrating mass with her 7:30 congregants at Immaculate Conception church.  This was the first and most important activity of her day.

Maureen's life will be celebrated and remembered at TJ McGowan & Sons Funeral Home in Garnerville, NY. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Monday, April 8th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m
