Obituary of Eileen M. Walsh

Eileen M. Walsh (nee Daly), born August 24, 1937, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2024, at the age of 86. Eileen is survived by her two sons Edmond (Jill) and Thomas (Kari); heradoring grandchildren Daly, Quinn and Edmond; and numerous nieces and nephews that loved her dearly. Eileen was predeceased by her husband John E (Jack), her son John J, and her sister, Dorothy.

Eileen was born in Bronx, NY, and was the daughter of Tom and Susan Daly.  Eileen and Dorothy grew up in Park Chester and attended St. Raymond’s School and Church.  She met the love of her life, Jack Walsh, at a dance.  They were married in 1962. In 1971, Jack and Eileen settled in Thiells, NY, to raise their three sons.  

Eileen had a strong love of life, laughter and a good card game.  She was always ready for the next cruise, vacation or trip to Schroon Lake – whether it be with the Borman’s, Dowd’s, Walsh’s, etc.  Spending time with family at the annual McCorrypicnic was a treat she never missed.  Eileen worked for many years outside the home.  She loved meeting and talking to people.

After Eileen’s accident in 2017, her and Jack relocated to Stony Point for the next chapter in their lives.  They remained steadfastly devoted to one another.  A huge and warm” Thank You” to Allison, Angie, Mirna and Kiara and their entire families for everything they did for Eileen and Jack.  Their devotion, love and care for both Eileen and Jack made that last chapter one full of family, smiles and fun.

A wake is scheduled from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Friday April 5th at T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home in Garnerville, NY and a Funeral Mass at 9:30 am April 6th at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Pelham, NY. Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
